Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, the data shown in the comments form is collected, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent to help detect spam.

An anonymized string created from your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service. Their privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/.

Media

If you upload images to the website, avoid uploading images with embedded location (EXIF GPS) data. Visitors can download and extract location data from images.

Cookies

If you leave a comment, you may opt-in to saving your name, email, and website in cookies for convenience. These last one year.

If you visit the login page, a temporary cookie checks if your browser accepts cookies. It contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, cookies save your login information and screen display choices. Login cookies last two days; screen option cookies last one year. “Remember Me” keeps you logged in for two weeks.

If you edit or publish an article, a cookie indicating the post ID will be saved and expires after one day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content behaves the same way as if you visited the other website directly.

These external sites may collect data, use cookies, embed third-party tracking, or monitor your interaction with the embedded content.

Who I share your data with

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

How long your data is retained

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely so follow-up comments can be recognized automatically.

For registered users, personal information stored in profiles can be viewed, edited, or deleted at any time (except usernames). Website administrators can also access this information.

Your data rights

If you have an account or have left comments, you may request:

• A copy of your personal data stored on this site.
• Deletion of any personal data stored about you.

This excludes data I am required to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
